We are looking for a creative, empathetic, highly organized and detail-oriented People Operations Analyst to join our People team. This role will be an essential part of our day-to-day operations at the firm, making sure we support our employees with thoughtful and compliant best practices and will also support similar projects for our portfolio companies. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong foundational skills in people operations and HR who is looking to grow professionally and learn about venture capital.
HR Operations
Own the day-to-day People Ops functions such as maintaining employee records, managing HR tools/systems, and benefits administration (experience with Sequoia One, Lattice, Asana is helpful but not required).
Build strong relationships with employees as a go-to resource for HR related matters, ensuring timely, accurate, and empathetic support.
Manage key elements of the employee lifecycle including: onboarding and offboarding (in partnership with the Chief of Staff), 360 feedback, benefits OE, and promotion planning.
Compliance
Partner with PEO to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as industry best practices for full-time and contract employees.
Maintain and update internal policies and employee documentation to reflect legal requirements and best practices.
Project Management
Support major internal and external talent team projects, both for M13 and our portfolio companies.
Utilize benchmarking tools to address organizational structure and compensation needs.
Opportunity to stretch into Learning & Development programs on behalf of M13 and its portfolio companies.
2-4 years relevant experience in HR and People Operations, PHR certification is a plus but certainly not required. If you’re interested in developing in this area, we will support your training!
Ability to handle highly confidential employee information, with a mindset towards sensitivity and discretion.
Prior VC / start-up experience and/or a curiosity to learn about VC
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude
Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects when appropriate
Strong understanding of legal / HR compliance foundational principles
