Account Executive, Start-ups

Cloudflare is a global internet infrastructure company focused on security, performance and reliability for millions of internet properties. The Digital Native Account Executive will sell into high-growth, venture-backed companies, driving new logo acquisition, account expansion and renewals by combining technical understanding with consultative sales skills across Security, Network, Development and Infrastructure teams.

Skills

  • 2+ years B2B SaaS sales experience
  • Proven ability to hit $1M+ annual targets and manage complex six-figure deals
  • Strong B2B discovery and consultative selling skills
  • Experienced multithreading into C-suite and cross-functional buyers
  • Proficiency with SFDC, Tableau, G-Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Pipeline generation via outbound and inbound channels
  • Accurate forecasting and contract negotiation skills
  • Comfort discussing security, networking and infrastructure concepts with technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory plan to exceed quarterly targets and annual quota
  • Manage three sales motions: new business acquisition, customer expansion (upsell/cross-sell), and renewals
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline using AE outbound, BDR, Channel, and Marketing inbound funnels
  • Use deep technical knowledge to run consultative sales conversations and craft compelling value propositions
  • Accurately forecast pipeline and manage contract negotiations to build commercial outcomes
  • Build long-term strategic relationships, multi-thread across accounts, and drive customer adoption and retention
  • Position Cloudflare platform solutions including Cloudflare One and Connectivity Cloud
  • Operate as a cross-functional liaison to share customer feedback and influence product/customer experience
  • Travel up to 25% as required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Relevant coursework or training in business, technology, or sales is a plus
