Compensation Program Manager

Upgrade is a fast-growing fintech providing affordable credit, mobile banking, and payment products to millions of customers. The Compensation Program Manager will support design, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs, perform market benchmarking and pay-equity analysis, partner with People, Finance, and leadership, and help ensure compliance and payroll/process controls.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and present compensation data
  • Proficiency with HRIS and compensation tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits laws and regulations (FLSA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA)
  • Experience with pay equity reviews and compensation benchmarking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Analyze pay data and support job evaluations and compensation recommendations
  • Conduct pay equity reviews and assist with compensation audits
  • Provide reporting and insights on salary trends, pay adjustments, and compensation programs
  • Support midyear and year-end compensation adjustment processes
  • Administer incentive and merit-based compensation programs
  • Conduct market research and salary benchmarking
  • Advise leadership on compensation guidelines and best practices
  • Maintain compensation databases and ensure reporting accuracy
  • Partner with Finance on process controls, SOX testing, documentation, and IPO readiness
  • Support benefits administration including enrollments, terminations, compliance, and employee inquiries
  • Assist with benefits communication and open enrollment efforts

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Relevant HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, CCP) are a plus
