Instructional Designer - job 1 of 2

Robinhood is building the future of finance and seeks an Instructional Designer to create scalable, high-impact learning experiences across onboarding, compliance, and skill development. The role partners with SMEs and business stakeholders to translate complex content into practical, learner-centered solutions delivered through digital, instructor-led, and blended modalities, with expectations for in-person collaboration at least three days per week in the New York, Menlo Park, or Chicago offices.

Skills

  • Strong grasp of adult learning principles and performance-focused design
  • Experience designing digital, instructor-led, and blended learning solutions
  • Proficiency with tools such as Articulate 360, Canva, Camtasia, and Powtoon
  • Ability to simplify complex, technical, or policy-driven content
  • Experience working effectively with SMEs and cross-functional partners
  • Project management skills and comfort managing multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting localization or international learning needs is a plus
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and iterating learning systems at scale

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop learner-centered experiences including compliance training, functional onboarding, and skill-building content
  • Translate complex technical or policy content into clear, engaging learning assets that drive behavior change
  • Apply instructional design best practices and internal learning standards to create scalable solutions
  • Partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to co-create learning
  • Leverage digital, instructor-led, and blended modalities to meet diverse learner needs
  • Support localization and regional adaptation of learning content for international teams
  • Lead user research, needs assessments, and learning technology evaluations to inform design
  • Define outcome-driven performance objectives and build formative and summative evaluation strategies
  • QA, iterate, and refine content to ensure accessibility, usability, and business alignment
  • Contribute to and evolve instructional design systems, templates, and processes

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, learning & development, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certifications in L&D or instructional design are a plus
