Manager, Sales Development - job 1 of 2

Newsela is an education technology company that personalizes authentic content for K-12 classrooms. The Manager, Sales Development will lead and coach a mixed onshore/offshore SDR team, design and execute lead generation strategies for district and school administrators, and partner across the Customer organization to drive pipeline and revenue growth.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and CRM management
  • Experience using Salesloft, Gong, and sales coaching platforms
  • Strong coaching and people-management skills for remote teams
  • Proven track record in outbound and inbound lead generation
  • Data-driven decision making and territory performance optimization
  • Familiarity with AI tools to improve lead generation efficiency
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication

Responsibilities

  • Coach, train, and manage a team of onshore and offshore Sales Development Representatives to hit quarterly and annual metrics
  • Design and implement lead generation strategies targeted to District and School Administrators
  • Partner with sales leaders across the Customer organization to align on strategy, territory goals, and handoffs
  • Leverage Salesforce, Salesloft, Gong and other tools to manage workflows, measure performance, and implement improvements
  • Continuously monitor territory performance, identify growth opportunities, and iterate on processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve inter-departmental processes and execute company-wide goals
  • Identify, recruit, and develop SDR talent to build a scalable front-line team

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Relevant training or certifications in sales, enablement, or leadership are a plus
