Position Overview:

The Vice President of Business Development will serve as the executive face of the company to K-12 district leaders, driving strategic relationships, brand presence, and solution alignment to advance our mission and accelerate growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Present the company educational teaching presentation at key conferences, compellingly tailored to the audience with precision, credibility, and authenticity
  • Act as a thought leader in K-12 education by publishing articles, speaking on panels, and participating in advisory boards to elevate the company’s visibility and credibility
  • Identify, establish, and manage partnerships with educational associations that provide access to decision-makers and thought leaders
  • Develop personal and strategic relationships at the Superintendent and C-Suite level, purposefully leading to in-district meetings and sales opportunities
  • Collaboratively interface with Lightspeed sales, sales engineering, and product management teams to foster a cohesive sales approach tailored to the needs of each district
  • Develop alliance strategies with complementary technology providers within the teaching and learning and safety and security space that will strengthen the company’s value proposition to school districts
  • Monitor K-12 market trends, funding opportunities, and competitor strategies to inform company messaging and advise the executive team on positioning and growth opportunities
  • Support sales leadership team through coaching the internal sales team on how to effectively engage at the Superintendent/C-Suite level
  • Own measurable targets around brand influence, executive engagement, and partnership-driven pipeline contributions
  • Support marketing efforts by establishing referenced accounts within current customers and partners for contributed articles and public relations stories
  • Support additional opportunities and strategies as outlined by the SVP of Revenue and the Lightspeed Executive Team
