Key Account Lead

In this role, you will oversee a multi-state sales territory, driving growth and deepening relationships with key clients and branch personnel. You will collaborate closely with sales leadership and field teams to expand the full portfolio of products, increase market share, and identify new business opportunities. This position combines strategic account management, customer engagement, and market development in a dynamic environment that values autonomy, collaboration, and measurable results. Ideal candidates thrive in B2B sales within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial sectors and are comfortable working remotely while traveling regionally to maintain strong client connections. Success in this role comes from a mix of relationship-building, territory strategy, and execution-focused sales leadership.


Accountabilities
  • Manage and grow a multi-state sales territory in partnership with leadership and key sales professionals.
  • Develop strong relationships with customer branch personnel, including leadership and field sales, to drive sales and ensure the company remains front-of-mind for category needs.
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and local representatives to identify opportunities across the full product portfolio.
  • Lead and facilitate regular sales meetings and training sessions within the territory as needed.
  • Independently schedule end-user calls or coordinate with Customer DSRs to engage decision-makers.
  • Leverage knowledge across verticals, including traditional distribution and wholesale channels, to identify new business opportunities.
  • Secure and grow regional and chain business to increase overall market share.
  • Attend regional trade shows and industry events to strengthen client relationships and promote products.
  • Partner with Sales Directors to identify account targets, maintain margins, and manage contract deviations.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in business development or B2B sales, ideally in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience conducting product demonstrations and solutions presentations, with strong knowledge transfer skills.
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, competitive activities, and potential for new products.
  • Knowledge of the Mountain West regional market preferred.
  • Ability to foster long-term customer relationships and promote a positive professional image.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software for territory and pipeline management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel 25โ€“30% of the time as required.
