HR Business Partner

TEGNA is a large local media company delivering trusted news and services across broadcast and digital platforms. We are seeking a business-minded HR Business Partner to support WTSP-TV and regional client groups in the Southeast, focused on employee relations, leadership development, performance management, change management and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will be partnership-focused, results-oriented, and able to facilitate a high-performance workplace while ensuring legal compliance and excellent customer service.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership on organization and culture change, transformation initiatives and succession planning
  • Advise and coach managers and employees on employee engagement, performance management and career development
  • Lead or support workplace investigations and employee relations matters as appropriate
  • Support talent assessment, acquisition and retention initiatives including multi-level recruitment
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on special projects, best-practice sharing and cross-functional initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to local, state and federal employment, wage/hour, OSHA and related laws
  • Champion a high-performance work environment and drive employee engagement activities
  • Provide responsive, timely and professional HR customer service to stakeholders
  • Support union-related matters and negotiations as needed

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, SPHR) preferred
  • Ongoing HR training and professional development preferred
