Strategic Account Executive - job 1 of 3

Benchling builds an R&D Cloud used by leading biotech companies to accelerate discovery and product development. The Strategic Account Executive will drive new business in their territory by generating pipeline, managing complex multi-persona deals, and closing strategic enterprise agreements while partnering with internal teams to ensure customer success.

Skills

  • Proven account executive experience in enterprise SaaS, data management, workflow, or technology-driven sales
  • Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline and manage complex sales cycles
  • Strong sales forecasting and quota attainment track record
  • Experience selling to multiple personas including technical decision makers, business leaders, and CxOs
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC and Salesforce usage preferred
  • Knowledge of life sciences R&D and IT functions is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Generate ~80% of your pipeline by identifying and engaging new business opportunities across multiple personas
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts (+/-10% of goal) to ensure predictable revenue outcomes
  • Perform solution selling: craft tailored presentations and proposals that demonstrate Benchling's value
  • Lead negotiations and close deals, engaging stakeholders up to CxO level and navigating organizational complexity
  • Manage accounts across multiple personas to align Benchling solutions with customer objectives
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, customer success, and channel partners to drive customer outcomes
  • Maintain opportunity and account integrity in Salesforce and follow established sales processes (PG, MEDDIC, Command of the Message, etc.)
  • Continuously learn industry trends, competitor landscape, and product updates to inform sales strategy

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (life sciences major preferred but not required)
  • Equivalent experience in enterprise sales will be considered
