People Operations Partner

1848 Ventures is a venture studio building B2B SaaS startups powered by data and AI for SMB industries. We're seeking a senior People Operations Partner to provide HR business partner–style support across the studio and portfolio companies, build scalable people systems, advise leaders on org design and performance, and help shape a consistent, compliant people experience as ventures scale.

Skills

  • Proven experience as HR Business Partner or senior People Operations professional
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems (HRIS), benefits administration, and compliance
  • Experience designing and scaling onboarding, offboarding, and performance processes
  • Ability to coach leaders and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Comfort with ambiguity and operating across multiple ventures simultaneously
  • Experience with people data/analytics to inform decisions and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as strategic HR partner to leaders on org design, team dynamics, performance, and talent planning
  • Coach leaders through sensitive people situations and values-aligned decision making
  • Design and manage scalable processes for onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and day-to-day people operations
  • Partner on compensation alignment and maintain process consistency across the studio and ventures
  • Manage the PEO relationship to ensure compliant, high-quality employee experiences
  • Analyze people data to surface trends, risks, and opportunities and share actionable insights
  • Collaborate with Marketing on employer brand alignment with internal culture
  • Support early-stage ventures with role design, team formation, feedback loops, and foundational people practices
  • Contribute to the evolution of consistent policies, tools, and documentation across the studio

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
  • HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM) is a plus
