People Operations Business Partner

UMA is a national nonprofit healthcare education institution headquartered in Tampa, Florida, offering interactive online programs and hands-on training. UMA is seeking a strategic People Operations Business Partner to align people strategy with departmental goals, drive talent management initiatives, provide data-informed recommendations, and partner with leaders to improve organizational capability and engagement.

Skills

  • 8+ years in Human Resources with senior-level or leadership experience
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with leaders and stakeholders
  • Experience with talent management practices: succession planning, org design, performance management
  • Ability to analyze HR data and deliver actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Consult with leaders on strategic workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, career pathing, and change management.
  • Manage people mobility processes including promotions, transfers, job creation, and documentation.
  • Analyze talent metrics and create actionable insights, reports, and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Guide leaders on applying People Team tools and services to meet departmental needs.
  • Lead the performance management process and coach leaders on development and review best practices.
  • Partner on People Team projects and initiatives, offering departmental feedback and support.
  • Facilitate team member engagement analysis and lead action planning with leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals and compliance.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
