Director, Global Total Rewards

WHO WE ARE

At Trustly, we are on a mission to deliver a better way to pay and get paid. Consumers deserve a payment option that prioritizes financial responsibility, and merchants should have the independence to accept payments without unnecessary costs. This mission drives everything we do.

We are revolutionizing the payments industry by making Pay by Bank the new standard at checkout, providing a smarter payment option to credit and debit cards. For merchants and consumers, this means the freedom to make and receive payments with greater security and ease.

Fueled by this purpose, we have grown into a global network connecting 9,000 merchants to 650 million consumers through 12,000 banks across 33 countries, processing over $100 billion annually. As the leader in Pay by Bank, we aim to redefine the payments experience by delivering exceptional products and unmatched value.

With regional offices in Vitória, Brazil and Silicon Valley, USA, and our global headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, we are a diverse team that spans over 30 nationalities. Embracing a culture of innovation and collaboration, our "work from anywhere" policy allows employees in Brazil, the U.S., and Canada to work remotely within their country of residence, enabling flexibility while staying connected to our global team.

Now is the perfect time to join us and help accomplish our mission. If you are inspired by purpose, thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, and are ready to shape the future of payments, we would love to hear from you!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our growing People team is looking for a Director, Global Total Rewards to lead our international rewards strategy. This is a critical leadership role that requires you to think strategically about complex global compensation and benefits topics while demonstrating a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. As Trustly continues to grow, you'll be instrumental in developing innovative and impactful rewards philosophies and programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent around the world.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

On the People Team, we help achieve our business goals by creating a workplace culture where every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work. Our mission is to attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We look for people who are excellent communicators, display empathy for others, and are passionate problem solvers so we can promote positive change in this growing organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead the strategy, design, and execution of the company’s global compensation, equity, and benefits programs to attract and retain the best talent while balancing business objectives and local market dynamics.
  • Design a global total rewards philosophy and framework that is scalable, repeatable, and adaptable to local regulations and cultural norms.
  • Design, implement, and iterate on global compensation and equity programs, including sales and executive compensation. Ensure fairness, pay equity, and compliance with all international pay practices and policies.
  • Build upon our current benefit programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and ancillary benefits, to provide competitive and locally relevant offerings for our employees worldwide.
  • Work collaboratively with regional People team members, hiring managers, and leadership across the organization to ensure total rewards programs are aligned with business needs and local market requirements.
  • Regularly monitor external trends and competitive landscapes in key global markets to proactively adjust our rewards programs and maintain our position as an employer of choice.
  • Establish and measure key compensation and benefits program metrics to understand the effectiveness of our total rewards strategy and influence future program design.
  • Partner with Finance and regional leaders to lead the annual strategic planning for company-wide rewards programs and budgets.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive employee awareness and understanding of all compensation and benefit programs globally.
  • Lead the initiative to develop and maintain a comprehensive global job leveling and career architecture framework to ensure consistency and equity across all regions.
  • Take on ad-hoc projects to help drive global talent acquisition and retention strategies, supporting the overall People team mission.

WHO YOU ARE
  • 10+ years’ experience in People/HR, with at least 5 years dedicated to building and managing a global total rewards function.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing innovative, scalable, and equitable international Total Rewards programs in a fast-paced environment, for North America, Europe and Brazil.
  • Ability to build employee-centric rewards programs while expertly balancing global business goals and local financial and legal boundaries.
  • Deep analytical skills with the ability to utilize complex data sets to influence decision-making at all levels.
  • A collaborator who isn’t afraid to get in the weeds and believes that transparency empowers decision-making and ownership.
  • Global mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and outstanding communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, focused on flawlessness in work product and deliverables.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little direction and produce exceptional results; able to thrive in highly dynamic settings and lead and execute multiple projects concurrently.
  • Total Rewards experience in the FinTech sector preferred, with private and public company experience a plus.
