Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Human Resources Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Human Resources Business Advisor (HRBA).
Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Business Advisor, this person in this position will support the Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Americas Oceania Region and International Operations. This role will develop our company’s international HR strategies and oversee HR activities across the Sales Finance Companies (SFCs), including planning, design, and implementation of HR programs and policies regarding employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and onboarding. SFCs are located in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, along with an office in Puerto Rico.
This position is based at our North American headquarters in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.
What you’ll be doing
Ensure all HR activities are aligned with and supportive of our overall business strategy and establish a robust framework for international employment contracts, and related activities.
Develop compensation and benefits packages that are competitive in different markets
Provide guidance on legal and cultural issues affecting HR operations in different countries
Implement training and development programs that cater to a diverse workforce
Maintain knowledge of international labor laws and regulations
Assess and mitigate risks associated with international labor relations
Address team member relations issues ensuring they are properly investigated and resolved
Manage the company’s expatriate program, including relocation, immigration and repatriation processes
Develop and nurture strong and productive partnerships with a diverse group of senior managers and executives as well as with other groups within HR.
Use Workforce Planning & Analytics (WP&A) tools (e.g., segmentation framework, headcount plans, etc.) to assist assigned business unit in making workforce-related decisions. Help business managers/leaders understand and build workforce plans, including identifying current state, future state, and gaps.
Lead the education, implementation and follow-through of all existing HR programs, including but not limited to: Performance Management (Driving Performance) and corrective action, Pay for Performance (compensation programs such as merit, growth, bonus, discretionary awards), learning/development programs, as well as talent/succession planning.
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to effectively and efficiently staff open positions.
Provide advice and counsel along with Team Member Relations team to resolve team member concerns. Also partner with the leaves and disability management team on LOA cases.
Ad hoc projects such as assigned such as process improvement, etc.
What you bring
Strong experience with large business unit support in an HR Business Advisor or HR Generalist/Analyst role
HR department project work, especially in a leadership role
Proven experience leading/managing a team (preferably managing direct reports)
Knowledge and understanding of compensation programs, LOA administration, and recruiting processes
Knowledge and understanding of applicable employment/labor laws
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent professional work experience relevant to this position
Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
Added bonus if you have
5+ years of experience as a Global HR Manager or a similar role
Experience in full-cycle recruitment of both U.S. and international candidates
In-depth knowledge about international employment law and regulations
Fluency in Spanish
PHR/SPHR certification
