Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and process medical documentation from providers, employees, insurers, and the City's TPA.
- Administer and track leave and medical programs including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, birth/bonding, and limited-duty processes.
- Enter, update, and maintain employee medical and workers' compensation records in Excel and departmental databases.
- Prepare and submit job injury and exposure reports to the TPA within required deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate workers' compensation timesheet and payroll issues with PD Payroll.
- Communicate medical status updates to supervisors, Police Position Management, CPPT, City HR, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage case progress, follow up with employees and providers, and ensure timely updates.
- Organize, log, and retain medical records according to the City's records retention schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, resolving routine concerns, and referring complex issues appropriately.
- Assist the Unit Supervisor and participate in assigned projects and initiatives.
Education
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Law, Medical Management, Business Administration, Medical Office Administration, or related field
- Two years of clerical and administrative experience
