We are seeking a strategic and driven Product Manager to lead the development of our new Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) platform, a transformative solution designed to support school choice programs across the nation. This role will be responsible for shepherding the build and growth of a modern, scalable platform that empowers families and schools by streamlining access to state and federal scholarship opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of market dynamics, collaborate across departments, and translate vision into actionable roadmaps. This is a unique opportunity to shape a product that will have a meaningful impact on educational access and equity.
The Product Manager discovers and validates market problems, identifies new business opportunities, and measures and manages product performance. This position also develops strategic vision and product roadmaps with executive stakeholders, and works with product owners and development teams to deliver exceptional results. The Product Manager focuses on developing skills and abilities under the guidance of both management and more experienced Product Manager II positions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops industry relationships to identify market opportunities, define market problems, and advance Nelnet as a thought leader.
2. Identifies and socializes competitive advantages and market growth opportunities.
3. Develops 1-3 year product vision and works with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog supports this vision.
4. Conducts win/loss analysis to determine areas of opportunity and improvement.
5. Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators to determine product performance and effectiveness.
6. Manages ROI models and refines periodically to improve our ability to predict product growth.
7. Researches market pricing and recommends pricing strategies based on competitive strengths and market positioning.
8. Acts as a mentor to other team members and provides expertise in security.
Salary for this role is: $100,000

EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
