Human Resources Generalist

Mood Health is a telehealth company focused on improving access to personalized mental health care by matching clients with clinicians for video-based therapy and medication management. The Human Resources Generalist will operate as the sole HR professional, managing day-to-day HR operations, payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations while helping build and scale HR processes across a multi-state, remote workforce.

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Proficiency with HRIS and ATS systems
  • Knowledge of multi-state employment law and HR compliance (EEO, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Ability to manage employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary processes
  • Data-driven approach to analyze retention and engagement metrics
  • Comfort working independently as the sole HR resource in a remote environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary HR resource for employees and managers on policies, benefits, leave, and general inquiries.
  • Manage full-cycle hiring activities including interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Administer benefits, leave requests, licensing and training compliance, and related documentation.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary processes, terminations, and ensure legal and policy adherence.
  • Analyze employee engagement, turnover, and separation data to recommend retention improvements.
  • Develop, review, and enforce HR policies and procedures across multi-state operations.
  • Own ad-hoc HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives for HR systems and workflows.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Continued professional development in HR, employment law, or benefits recommended
