Strategic Account Executive, Financial Services

GitLab is an AI-powered DevSecOps platform used by millions globally to accelerate secure software delivery. We are seeking a Strategic Account Executive to own and grow large enterprise relationships in the Financial Services sector, driving adoption of GitLab across Banking, Insurance, Payments and FinTech organizations while navigating compliance and regulated environments.

Skills

  • Enterprise SaaS sales experience with complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Strong account management and strategic selling skills
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps concepts
  • Familiarity with security/AppSec tools and infrastructure modernization
  • Experience selling into regulated environments and awareness of compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS, GLBA)
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing capabilities
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote, asynchronous environment
  • Comfort collaborating with channel partners and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide account leadership and direction across pre- and post-sales activities for strategic prospects and customers
  • Prospect, develop, and expand opportunities within large/strategic accounts
  • Ensure successful rollout, adoption, and expansion of GitLab products through coordinated account management with pre/post-sales and support teams
  • Act as the voice of the customer and contribute product feedback to public issue trackers
  • Generate qualified leads and grow new customers in partnership with strategic channel partners
  • Prepare activity and forecast reports and contribute to win/loss root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and technical teams to convey customer needs and shape GTM strategies
  • Develop account plans and deliver consultative sales proposals and formal presentations addressing customer business needs
  • Communicate lessons learned and best practices across the sales organization

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Preferred: MBA or advanced degree (not required)
  • Familiarity with industry compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to financial services
