Join Our Corporate Operations Team

ECG’s Corporate Operations team has 100-plus employees associated with ECG offices across the country. These team members keep the business running, manage payroll and benefits offerings, ensure deliverables are high quality, hire and train employees, market our services, streamline business processes, and much more. Corporate Operations departments include Administrative Services, Business Development, Document Production Center, Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Marketing.

 

Your Opportunity with ECG: Senior Benefits Administrator

The Senior Benefits Administrator is responsible for the strategic administration, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement of the firm’s employee benefits programs. This role ensures that benefits offerings are competitive, cost-effective, legally compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. Serving as a subject matter expert, the Senior Benefits Administrator manages vendor relationships, leads benefits-related compliance reporting, and supports the delivery of high-quality service to employees across multiple states.

Your Responsibilities May Include

Benefits Program Management

  • Oversee administration of all employee benefit programs, including self-funded medical plans, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, wellness programs, and voluntary benefits.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process, including vendor coordination, system configuration, employee communications, and data validation.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state-specific requirements.
  • Prepare, file, and maintain required compliance reports such as ACA 1094/1095 filings, Form 5500, Medicare Part D notices, and other mandated disclosures.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor legislative changes impacting benefits and recommend updates to policies and processes.

 

Employee Communication and Support

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex employee benefits inquiries and problem resolution for our 370+ employees.
  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging communication materials that help employees understand and utilize their benefits.
  • Facilitate benefits-related content for new hire orientations and ongoing benefits training sessions.

 

Vendor and Plan Oversight

  • Serve as the primary contact for brokers, carriers, and benefits vendors; manage service performance and escalations.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and contribute to plan design recommendations.
  • Negotiate renewal terms and assist in benefits benchmarking.

 

Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports on benefits enrollment, costs, utilization, and trends.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings, improved participation, or enhanced employee satisfaction.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline benefits administration and compliance tracking.

 

Our Expectations of You

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience, with at least 2 years managing self-funded health plans
  • Expertise in self-funded plan operations, including claims analysis, stop-loss coverage, and TPA management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations
  • Experience preparing compliance filings (e.g., Form 5500, ACA 1094/1095) and managing benefits audits
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Professional certification such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits concepts in clear, accessible language
  • Proven vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-state environment

 

Job Locations

San Diego, Boston, Chicago, or Washington, DC preferred

Candidates will be required to work a hybrid schedule with an average of 4–6 days per month in the office.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $105,000 $115,000 annually. It represents a good faith estimate of the range that ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects ECG's pay-for-performance philosophy. The job is also eligible to participate in ECG’s benefit plans, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) matching program; unlimited PTO; and other wellness programs.
