Hardware Product Manager
Skills
- 8+ years in hardware product management, with significant experience in wearables or head-borne devices
- Proven background in human factors and ergonomics for physical products
- Experience managing product lifecycle from ideation through production and fielding
- Strong cross-functional communication with design, engineering, and field teams
- Ability to perform market and user research and convert feedback into product requirements
- Familiarity with prototyping, manufacturing processes, and MRO considerations
- Adaptable, creative problem-solver in fast-paced, evolving technical environments
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the product roadmap for wearable and head-borne technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, industrial design, human factors, and field teams to translate user needs into product specifications.
- Conduct market research and customer engagements to gather requirements and validate concepts.
- Manage full product lifecycle: concept, prototyping, validation, launch, and post-market analysis.
- Ensure products meet performance, safety, and ergonomic standards and regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and external customers.
- Anticipate and resolve hardware challenges related to manufacturability, reliability, and field deployment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial design, human factors, or a related field (preferred advanced degree)
- Relevant industry training or certifications in human factors/ergonomics or product management preferred
