Skills
- Proficiency in Siemens NX for CAD modeling and drawing production
- Experience using FEA tools for structural and thermal analysis
- Knowledge of aerospace environmental standards (DO-160, MIL-STD)
- Ability to integrate mechanical designs with electronic/avionics systems
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience supporting prototype build, test, and troubleshooting
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret Clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components for avionics LRUs including enclosures, mounting systems, and thermal management solutions.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical designs with electronic systems.
- Perform detailed analysis and simulations (FEA, thermal) to validate designs across environmental conditions.
- Create and maintain CAD models, detailed drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
- Participate in and lead design reviews; provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure designs meet applicable aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD).
- Support prototype development, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and flight test integration.
- Work with suppliers to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality of designs.
Education
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
