- Proficiency in developing and executing hardware test campaigns and producing qualification deliverables
- Strong modeling, simulation, and analysis skills for environmental effects
- Ability to mentor engineers and work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments
- Familiarity with software/data-analysis tools (C++, Python, MATLAB) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Drive development and execution of avionics component and system test campaigns to validate survivability across ascent-to-orbit environments
- Analyze and test failure mechanisms including radiation effects, high-voltage transients, arcing, and electromagnetic interference
- Develop comprehensive test plans and lead test campaigns across thermal, vacuum, vibration, radiation, EMC, and transient environments
- Lead failure investigations, define root causes and remediation strategies, and validate corrective actions
- Mentor and guide multidisciplinary avionics engineers (RF/EMC, digital, power electronics, mechanical) and grow team capabilities
- Collaborate closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering to ensure system-level integration and compatibility
- Create and maintain qualification documentation, test reports, and design feedback to iterate on flight hardware
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (required)
- Advanced degree in a related discipline preferred but not required
