Principal Technical Program Manager, Engineering Programs

Relativity Space is building Terran R — a next-generation launch vehicle — and is scaling engineering program management to deliver vehicle engineering outcomes on time and at the right risk posture. The Principal Technical Program Manager will drive program execution, risk management, integrated scheduling, and the development of a high-performing TPM organization across Vehicle Engineering.

Skills

  • Program and schedule management (IMS, critical path, baseline management)
  • Risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
  • Cross-functional leadership across hardware, software, and operations
  • Executive-level communication and briefing
  • Systems-level thinking for dependencies and interfaces
  • Coaching and team-building for program managers

Responsibilities

  • Own schedule adherence, risk management, and reporting cadence across all Vehicle Engineering departments
  • Maintain and drive the program-level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and identify true program critical path
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate engineering program execution risks and escalate decision points proactively
  • Present program updates, risks, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership
  • Establish goals, metrics, and a scoreboard to increase predictability and efficiency of engineering work
  • Build, lead, mentor, and coach a team of TPMs to support Vehicle Engineering delivery
  • Standardize program management methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices across programs
  • Facilitate transparent cross-functional communication among engineering, PMO, and operations stakeholders

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field (preferred: aerospace, electrical, mechanical)
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in engineering/science) is preferred but not required
