Skills
- Architecting and delivering satellite/spacecraft hardware and software systems
- Domain knowledge in missile defense and kill-chain concepts
- Spacecraft qualification and acceptance testing standards (e.g., GEVS, SMC-S-016/MIL-STD-1540)
- Systems engineering and requirements decomposition
- Experience with US government space mission CONOPS and contracts
- Strong technical communication and stakeholder management
- Experience with propulsion, guidance & navigation, optical sensors, and on-orbit operations
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead across spacecraft subsystems, payloads, and ground C2 integration from proposal through on-orbit operation
- Develop technical strategy and roadmap in coordination with Head of Engineering and Growth/Strategy leads
- Drive design, build, test, qualification, and delivery of flight hardware and software (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, assembly, qualification testing)
- Lead mission- and system-level trade studies to balance risk, cost, schedule, and performance
- Oversee multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, and strategic partners to ensure timely integration and delivery
- Provide technical inputs to proposals and engineering execution plans
- Coordinate requirements, test criteria, and acceptance testing with external vendors and government stakeholders
- Communicate technical status, risks, and mitigation plans to internal leadership and customers
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
