Primary Responsibilities:
Manage admissions database systems and serves as primary contact for admissions database systems, Slate, Banner and Unite with main campus and supporting organizations such as the Law School Admission Council (LSAC)
Trouble-shoots application problems, reads applications, and meets and counsels applicants and admitted students as necessary
Represents the School of Law at national and regional recruitment events
Manages and develops candidate communication plan for prospective, admitted and deposited students
Develops and implements pre and post-admission recruitment strategies
Responsible for collection and analysis of data to produce and write statistical reports
Supervises and trains support staff including student workers
Provides drafting and editing consultation regarding Admission materials and publications
Coordinates and manages all admissions events including orientation, and all yield events for admitted students and information sessions/application workshops for prospects
Presents at panels, information sessions, and application workshops
Coordinates with faculty, staff, law students and alumni in participating with various yield events
Serves as primary on and off campus housing liaison for incoming students
Other duties, as directed by the Director of J.D. Admissions
Requirements:
A successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, preferably in a law school setting, superior oral and written communications skills, experience working effectively with a diverse constituency, sound judgment, and demonstrated experience managing large-scale events. The ability to exercise initiative and creativity throughout the admissions process is critical as is customer service experience and a positive and responsive attitude. A sense of humor is extremely welcome. Excellent database and spreadsheet skills and experience in statistical analysis and development of reports is necessary. Proficient experience with Unite, Slate, and Banner software is preferred. Must be able to travel nationally. BA degree required.
Work Environment:
The position reports to the Director of J.D. Admissions. This is a full-time, in-person position located in Kendrick Hall, which is part of a two-building law complex that includes glass-enclosed lobbies, a café, and an outdoor patio with beautiful views of southern San Francisco. The Admissions Office consists of the Assistant Dean of Admissions, Director of J.D. Admissions, Assistant Director, and two professional office assistants. Student workers and temporary employees may also work in the office during peak seasons.
