Pros

Work like balance. Variety of projects. Accessible to different career opportunities

Cons

Limited growth in some departments

Harmony. It can’t happen if everyone is singing the same note. That’s why we celebrate our differences. We're big believers that diversity and inclusion leads to innovation, creativity and collaboration.

From our entry-level jobs to our senior leaders and everyone in between, our teams reflect a broad array of cultures, ethnicities, genders, abilities, sexual orientations, generations, and life experiences. We like it that way.

Who We Are

SHAPE YOUR FUTURE. CREATE A BETTER TOMORROW.

Sure, you can choose to work for a lot of different companies that claim to innovate. But how many of them actually have the power to change the world?

At Southern California Edison (SCE), you can put yourself at the center of one of the most important issues of our time - powering our planet while drastically reducing carbon emissions and creating cleaner air for everyone.

About Us

Every day, we at SCE are working hard for our communities, our environment, and our future. As one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, we’re bringing more clean and renewable sources of energy to Southern California, modernizing our electric grid for a more secure and reliable energy future.

We’re a national leader in solar delivery and battery storage. And we’re supporting greener transport and helping to make electric vehicles more affordable. We’re cutting emissions and greenhouse gases to provide cleaner air for everyone. And in everything we do for businesses, customers, and communities, we’re offering more flexibility, more choices, and more ways to save. We’re making substantial investments in a clean energy future, for ourselves and for the next generation.

It’s an investment in our employees, our customers, and our communities. We’re all on one team and together, we’re building tomorrow’s energy foundation today.

Our Values
MOVING CALIFORNIA FORWARD. TOGETHER.

We believe in going the extra mile and feel fortunate to be Southern California’s partner in energy. Every day we’re inspired by the people and businesses who are making contributions, big and small, to help our communities thrive. And we want to work hand-in-hand with them, every step of the way. We have big dreams and we know nothing big is ever accomplished alone. Together, we’re making sure California, and all of us who live here, shine bright.

OUR CUSTOMERS

SCE’s service territory includes 430 cities and communities with a total customer base of about 5 million residential and business accounts. We proudly serve approximately 15 million people in a 50,000-square-mile service area within Central, Coastal and Southern California.

GIVING BACK

In 2017, we contributed $21 million in charitable contributions and nonprofit sponsorships. More than 90% of our giving helps underserved residents, including diverse ethnic groups, seniors; people with disabilities; women; gay and lesbian populations; and low-income families. In 2017, our employees donated $2.3 million and volunteered 134,319 hours with local nonprofits and schools.

OUR ELECTRIC GRID

SCE maintains more than 105,773 miles of distribution lines. Our system contains approximately 1.4 million electricity poles. If you were to lay down the wires that makeup SCE’s extensive transmission and distribution network end to end, they would traverse the United States approximately 40 times.

Diversity

IT TAKES ALL KINDS

Harmony. It can’t happen if everyone is singing the same note. That’s why we celebrate our differences. We're big believers that diversity and inclusion leads to innovation, creativity and collaboration.

From our entry-level jobs to our senior leaders and everyone in between, our teams reflect a broad array of cultures, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, generations, and life experiences. We like it that way.

A CHORUS OF COMMUNITIES

Employee and Business Resource Groups come together in our workplace based on shared characteristics or life experiences representing a range of cultures, differences, perspectives, and business initiatives such as safety, business trends and the environment. They generously volunteer their time to embrace and promote the value of diversity and inclusion within our company.

Our resource groups focus on environmental and sustainability awareness, advancement in business practices, women’s advancement in the workplace, LGBTQ inclusion and growth, special needs education and resource, advocacy and safety awareness and practices, promotes innovation and encourages personal and professional growth.
