Join us as an Engineering Manager and play a pivotal role in driving innovation, fostering growth, and creating software solutions that empower schools across the nation. In this leadership role, you'll oversee a talented team of software and test engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle. We’re looking for a seasoned engineering leader who thrives in both technical and business domains, has a passion for mentoring, and is excited to contribute to our mission-driven organization.

Who You’ll Lead:

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and support a distributed technology team, including Software Engineers and Test Engineers, ensuring seamless execution and continuous development.

How You’ll Impact Booster’s Mission:

Team Leadership

  • Hire, mentor, and manage a technology team of 7+ engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment for team members.
  • Oversee career development, performance, and professional growth.

Project & Process Management

  • Manage the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management to define and execute requirements.
  • Identify and remove impediments for consistent team delivery.

Technical Oversight & Innovation

  • Establish technical specifications and ensure adherence to design patterns.
  • Build, operate, and maintain reliable software systems and services.
  • Work with Principal Engineers on architectural solutions for business challenges.
  • Lead the team in adopting and integrating modern AI tools and technologies to enhance development efficiency and product capabilities.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, with 2+ years in people management
  • Expertise in leading high-performance teams using Scrum/Agile methodologies
  • Strong communication skills, capable of breaking down complex problems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software design patterns and emerging technologies
  • A degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
  • A collaborative and positive attitude with a strong sense of ownership

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Node.js, React, MySQL/Postgres, Kafka, or PHP
  • Experience building and improving cloud-based systems and infrastructure
  • A Master’s degree or further education in a technical field
