Manager, Recruiting

Slingshot is a fast-growing company building space technology and supporting federally funded programs. The Manager, Talent Acquisition will lead end-to-end recruiting for technical, non-technical, and cleared roles, build scalable TA processes, partner with leadership on hiring forecasts, and ensure compliance with government contract requirements while developing long-term talent pipelines.

  • Experience leading metric-driven recruiting teams
  • Proven success recruiting for cleared roles and federal/government programs
  • Strong proactive sourcing and passive talent development skills
  • Stakeholder advisory and influencing abilities at senior levels
  • Experience building scalable recruiting processes and operational improvements
  • High attention to detail and data-driven decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Own recruiting strategy and process for assigned business areas, including workforce forecasting with Finance and Program Management
  • Develop short- and long-term hiring plans to support federal programs, operational scaling, and revenue-driven headcount growth
  • Partner with leaders to assess contract requirements, staffing timelines, surge staffing, and phased hiring models
  • Ensure recruiting practices meet federal program standards, contract labor categories, and customer staffing requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships within cleared communities, government-adjacent networks, and defense-industry talent pools
  • Design proactive sourcing strategies using research, market mapping, referrals, and long-term engagement
  • Establish always-on talent pipelines for cleared and technical candidates ahead of contract wins
  • Integrate employer brand into recruitment and act as a brand ambassador
  • Create and optimize the recruiting playbook for speed, consistency, and high hiring standards
  • Use data to inform decisions, track hiring goals, and surface risks or bottlenecks

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Relevant HR/TA certifications a plus
