Compensation Analyst

Shift4 is a public commerce-enabling technology company that powers payments for businesses across industries. The Compensation Analyst will support the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs—conducting market analysis, managing survey participation, evaluating jobs, and providing data-driven recommendations to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.

Skills

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with data modeling
  • Experience with compensation tools and salary survey management
  • Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies and leveling frameworks
  • Ability to interpret compensation data and present clear insights
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of compensation-related regulations and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market and internal salary data to ensure competitive, equitable compensation practices
  • Manage and participate in compensation surveys to benchmark roles across geographies and job families
  • Evaluate job descriptions and determine appropriate job levels and salary ranges
  • Support annual compensation planning including merit increases, promotions, and bonus planning
  • Assist in developing salary structures and pay bands for business units or countries
  • Provide compensation analysis and modeling for offers, promotions, and pay decisions
  • Partner with HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to advise on compensation for internal and external offers
  • Monitor regulatory changes and compliance related to pay (e.g., pay transparency, FLSA)
  • Support creation of compensation communications and training for leaders and employees
  • Help build dashboards, tools, and models to support reporting and decision-making
  • Contribute to global/regional compensation projects, system implementations and process improvements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred
  • Relevant compensation or HR certifications a plus (e.g., CCP, GRP)
