Compensation Manager

Roofstock is a leading end-to-end investment platform for single-family rental homes, combining real estate expertise with technology to serve both retail and institutional investors. We are seeking a data-driven Compensation Manager to shape and scale our compensation and equity programs, promote internal equity, and support growth through rigorous benchmarking, policy development, and partnership with Talent & Culture and business leaders.

Skills

  • Deep experience with Carta and equity administration
  • Proficiency with compensation benchmarking tools (Radford, Pave, Kamsa)
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Workday)
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and strong analytical ability
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience building scalable processes in fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and benchmark compensation data to ensure pay competitiveness and internal equity
  • Design, model, and implement salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs
  • Support and coordinate the annual compensation review cycle with Strategic Initiatives
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners on offers, promotions, and internal mobility
  • Develop compensation policies, guidelines, and manager training materials
  • Maintain compensation systems and tools, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to inform leadership decision-making
  • Monitor compensation trends, legislation, and best practices in total rewards
  • Administer and manage equity via Carta
  • Assess roles for exempt/nonexempt classification and recommend appropriate salary ranges
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant professional experience in compensation and equity administration
