Head of Sales Planning

A fast-growing global sportswear brand is hiring a Head of Sales Planning, North America to own in-season and long-range sales planning, forecasting, and commercial strategy for the region. The role leads a planning team, partners closely with finance, sales, merchandising and retail partners, and drives profitable, data-driven growth across omnichannel channels.

Skills

  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets modeling and tool-building
  • Proven track record improving sell-through, GMROI and forecast accuracy
  • Experience with omnichannel commercial planning and integrated business planning (IBP)
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional influencing
  • Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear business recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual operating plan and financial forecasting for North America, partnering with finance to manage sales budgets and contribute to the regional P&L
  • Lead, mentor and scale a high-performing sales planning team responsible for ladder plans, margin modeling, life cycle management and future season forecasting
  • Drive seasonal product forecasting and long-range demand planning; act as the authoritative voice on future product demand for the region
  • Synthesize market, consumer and competitive data into strategic recommendations that improve sell-through, GMROI and forecast accuracy
  • Partner with global/local counterparts to translate company objectives into North America-specific sales planning strategies
  • Coordinate with DTC, Retail and Digital planning teams to ensure consistent omnichannel demand planning and consumer experience
  • Engage directly with key account partners on complex planning discussions and strategic alignment
  • Develop and implement advanced sales analysis and reporting tools to provide actionable insights across the organization
  • Champion best practices, new technologies and a data-driven approach to improve forecasting accuracy and commercial efficiency
  • Present clear, concise recommendations to senior leadership and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field (required)
  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field (preferred)
