HR Generalist

The Mozilla Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to an open, accessible, and trustworthy internet. The People & Culture team supports a remote-first, international workforce and is seeking an HR Generalist to manage people operations and recruitment across the full employee lifecycle. This role blends day-to-day HR administration with candidate sourcing and hiring coordination, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a scaling, mission-driven environment.

Skills

  • Proven HR generalist experience across people operations and recruitment
  • Strong HRIS and ATS proficiency and comfort learning new HR technologies
  • Experience with leave, benefits, and payroll-related processes
  • Analytical skills to produce and interpret people metrics and reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management
  • High level of confidentiality, organization, and ability to prioritize multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Manage leave processes, PTO administration, and employee inquiries related to time off and leaves of absence
  • Support benefits administration, utilization reporting, and employee benefits questions
  • Maintain and improve HR systems (HRIS, payroll support, ATS) and keep employee data accurate
  • Partner on people analytics and produce regular HR metrics and insights for decision-making
  • Develop and maintain knowledge management (Confluence) resources, policies, handbooks, and org charts
  • Support compliance needs including audits and required reporting
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and provide timely, thoughtful support
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities: job postings, sourcing, initial screens, interview coordination, and candidate communication
  • Contribute to sourcing strategies and ensure a positive, values-aligned candidate experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus
