Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.  Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.

Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

Job Title: Business Development Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: Directly responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with community referral sources to ensure MHC growth and for maintaining and enhancing good-will within the community’s MHC serves.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide outreach activities to assigned territory in an effort to meet Agency admission goals. Activities to include: cold calling, prospecting, public speaking, presenting services to potential referral sources, exhibiting at conferences, developing and following call cycle, planning & executing events.
2. Meet monthly with VP, Business Development (VP, BD) to review plans, progress, & goals.
3. Meet with site supervisors in assigned territory every 2 months to review plans, progress, and to problem solve challenges that have come up related to feedback from community in those areas.
4. Maintain and update action plans that have been developed with VP, BD.
5. Assist VP, BD in acting as an official representative/liaison for the Agency to entire community. Assist with complaints, challenges, and facilitating new growth opportunities.
6. Assist in integrating outreach activity with other MHC departments in an effort to facilitate an Agency-wide team approach to outreach.
7. Assist with intake assessment process as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years’ experience interacting successfully in the community with child serving human service or medical type businesses.

  • Must be comfortable speaking to groups and professionals.

  • Valid Tennessee Drivers License

  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

  • Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
