Position Details:
The Human Resources Manager is a strategic HR generalist role working closely with Recruitment, HR Operations, Total Rewards, Attorney Development, and Employee Relations to ensure consistent, compliant, and effective people practices across the firm’s global offices. This role acts as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing broad HR support to Analysts, Litigation Assistants, and all Business Professionals, with a focus on policy implementation, performance management, promotions, manager capability, leave management, and HR projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
Operational & Advisory Functions:
Provide HR support to Analysts, Litigation Assistants, and all Business Professionals, ensuring consistent application of policies and processes across the firm.
Act as a strategic partner to business leaders by providing guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and process improvement.
Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee relations matters, escalating complex or sensitive cases to the Employee Relations Manager or Employment Counsel.
Lead the administration of performance management processes, including review cycles, promotion processes, and manager coaching.
Design and deliver Quarterly Manager Training, including needs assessment, content development, and facilitation.
Partner with business leaders on organizational changes, workforce transitions, and team development initiatives.
Monitor HR and legal trends, ensuring policies and practices remain compliant and aligned with best practices.
Use reporting and analytics to identify workforce trends, develop insights, and recommend HR solutions.
Support leave of absence and return-to-work processes in partnership with HR Operations.
Coordinate and lead HR projects, process improvements, and policy rollouts that impact employee groups globally.
Provide support to the other People Team subgroups (Recruitment, HR Operations, Total Rewards and Attorney Development) and the Employee Relations Manager.
Leadership Support:
Partner with leaders to improve team performance, capability, effectiveness and retention.
Partner with the business on talent assessment and change management to improve work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
Provide coaching and guidance on people management strategies and career development.
Build strong, trusted relationships across assigned business groups and with global stakeholders.
Ensure effective execution of HR strategies and initiatives in alignment with the firm’s business priorities.
Provide proactive guidance and project management for organizational planning and development efforts.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
A minimum of seven years of progressive human resources experience is needed, preferably in a professional service or global matrixed organisation.
Global HR experience strongly preferred, global mindset required.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in partnering across the HR service delivery model.
Broad HR knowledge, including performance management, policy development, employee relations, and compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and credibility at all levels.
Strong mediation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Self-directed and motivated, with the initiative to anticipate client needs and recommend solutions.
Proven ability to use data and analytics to inform decision-making.
Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail and adaptability.
Experience in fast-paced, dynamic, multi-cultural environments.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues with discretion
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, remain focused under pressure and work extended hours as required.
Workday experience preferred; proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
Hybrid work schedule: three days per week in the office (Tuesday, Thursday, and one additional day as required by team needs).
At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is US$ 110,000 (minimum) – US$ 170,000 (maximum). This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate’s actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, and market data.
