People Technology Functional Manager (Workday)

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on People Technology Functional Expert (Workday PATTB) to join our HelloFresh People Team. In this role, you will work directly within the Workday Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, and Benefits modules, driving configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across global markets.

This position is entirely individual-contributor and delivery-focused, ideal for a Workday professional who thrives on solving complex configuration challenges, designing scalable solutions, and executing end-to-end enhancements. You will collaborate closely with Global People Technology, Payroll, and Benefits stakeholders to translate business needs into optimized Workday functionality.

As a key contributor, you will lead functional delivery for core initiatives such as module optimizations, new feature rollouts, and integrations, all while remaining deeply hands-on with configuration, testing, and documentation. Your expertise will help HelloFresh strengthen its Workday ecosystem, improve process automation, and elevate the overall employee experience, without a people-management component.


What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the lead Workday functional expert: Act as the primary subject matter expert for Workday modules, including Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, and Benefits, providing hands-on support and strategic guidance.
  • Manage end-to-end Workday solutions: Own the entire solution lifecycle, from configuration and testing to deployment and post-production support, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Drive process improvement and automation: Identify opportunities to enhance business processes through Workday functionality, focusing on automation, efficiency, and accuracy within the HR and People functions.
  • Lead major Workday initiatives: Take full ownership of functional workstreams for large-scale projects like new country rollouts, system integrations, and module implementations, handling both design and execution.
  • Provide strategic support and issue resolution: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, translating business needs into scalable solutions, resolving complex production issues, and ensuring seamless operations.
  • Enhance reporting and maintain system integrity: Develop custom reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance through audits and system maintenance


What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and deploying Workday functional solutions, specifically in Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, and Benefits.
  • Strong expertise in either Workday's Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking or Benefits modules, with a comprehensive understanding of the configuration and functionality within these areas.
  • In-depth knowledge of the HR function, including HR processes, structures, roles, and responsibilities, as well as a solid understanding of HR data structures in Workday (Staffing, Worker Data, Organizations, Business Processes, Security, Reporting & Analytics).
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to drive Workday transformation initiatives that improve business processes and enhance the employee experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets, comfortable with complex data analysis and managing large datasets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
