Senior Human Resources Policy & Advisory Specialist

Overview

FWI is building a team to review veterans preference pass-over cases for law enforcement positions and update Department-wide HR policies for the Department of Justice. As a Senior Human Resources Policy and Advisory Specialist, you will analyze complex HR cases, develop policy recommendations, and ensure DOJ compliance with federal regulations and merit system principles.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at the DOJ Justice Management Divison in Washington, DC. Hybrid/telework options may be available.

Responsibilities

 

  • Review and update Department-wide HR policies in accordance with new government regulations
  • Review veterans preference pass-over cases for law enforcement positions
  • Review requests for Law Enforcement retirement (6C) coverage determinations
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and annual reports through data analysis
  • Track and maintain logs of incoming requests using specified tracking systems
  • Prepare memoranda and supporting documentation for leadership review

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Minimum 3 years of highly technical HR experience in classifications, compensation, and/or federal staffing including delegated examining and veterans preference application
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Knowledge of federal HR regulations and policies
