Senior Human Resources Policy & Advisory Specialist
Overview
FWI is building a team to review veterans preference pass-over cases for law enforcement positions and update Department-wide HR policies for the Department of Justice. As a Senior Human Resources Policy and Advisory Specialist, you will analyze complex HR cases, develop policy recommendations, and ensure DOJ compliance with federal regulations and merit system principles.

Work Schedule and Location:
On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at the DOJ Justice Management Divison in Washington, DC. Hybrid/telework options may be available.
Responsibilities
- Review and update Department-wide HR policies in accordance with new government regulations
- Review veterans preference pass-over cases for law enforcement positions
- Review requests for Law Enforcement retirement (6C) coverage determinations
- Prepare briefings, presentations, and annual reports through data analysis
- Track and maintain logs of incoming requests using specified tracking systems
- Prepare memoranda and supporting documentation for leadership review
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of highly technical HR experience in classifications, compensation, and/or federal staffing including delegated examining and veterans preference application
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Knowledge of federal HR regulations and policies
