Business Development Manager

Job Description:

Ready to make fun, your business?  As the Business Development Manager- Special Events at Dave & Busters, you'll be the mastermind behind driving revenue and creating unforgettable experiences. We're looking for someone who is an equal parts strategic thinker and a go-getter. You will be at the forefront of driving significant revenue through outbound sales efforts in key industry segments, including SMERF (Social, Military, educational, Religious, Fraternal), Tour & Travel, and Multi-Location Events.  This role makes us the go-to destination for fun, memorable, large-scale events.

What you’ll do:

  • Revenue Responsibility: Own and drive events sales revenue growth in existing and new markets for Corporate, SMERF, Tour & Travel, and Multi-Location markets.
  • Data-driven Approach:  Leverage data, industry trends, and market research to identify opportunities for growth areas of focus
  • Be the rainmaker: You'll own the business development process for special events, focusing on key categories like corporate events, group outings, and social gatherings.  You identify new revenue streams and build partnerships that drive growth
  • Pre-opening Revenue Builder:  Get ahead of the game!  For new store openings, you'll hit the ground early, building relationships and securing business opportunities in partnership with the local Sales Manager before the store opens, ensuring a strong launch!
  • Strategic Partnership Creator:  You’ll seek new ways to partner with existing national businesses, local businesses, community groups, and organizations to bring fresh event opportunities.  You'll always be on the lookout for your next big deal.
  • Innovative Event Planner:  Work closely with our SE team to bring unique ideas and themes to life.  You'll help design the best event experiences in the business, always with a focus on maximizing revenue.
  • Market Expert:  Stay ahead of market trends and opportunities, ensuring that Dave & Busters remains the go-to place for unforgettable events. You'll know the market like the back of your hand and be ready to pivot when needed.
  • The Great Expander:  Mine existing corporate business to identify larger, multi-national opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in business development, and event sales with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, including lead generation, client acquisition, and conversion/closing strategies.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding business goals.
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively about how to drive revenue.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Displays above-average computer skills including working with multiple documents, Microsoft Office & email communication
  • High personal standards of conduct and professionalism
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, and ZoomInfo is a plus
