Director, Sales Training and Commercial Enablement

The Director of Sales Training and Commercial Enablement will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of comprehensive sales training programs for a high-performing commercial team. This role focuses on developing new hire and ongoing training curricula, coaching field sales personnel, and enhancing sales effectiveness across multiple product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales Leadership, Marketing, Compliance, and Operations, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and business priorities. Success in this position is measured by accelerated onboarding, improved sales performance, and increased employee engagement. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, hands-on facilitation, and analytical insight, with the flexibility to work nationally and remotely while influencing key business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage new hire and legacy sales training programs using multiple delivery modalities.
  • Conduct field rides and coaching sessions to ensure training content drives measurable sales impact.
  • Plan and facilitate regional and national training meetings, workshops, and hands-on lab sessions.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Operations, and Market Access teams to support tactical initiatives and business objectives.
  • Curate leadership development content and deploy sales enablement tools to foster continuous learning.
  • Enhance business planning capabilities of field teams, including CRM dashboards, sales analytics, and strategic use of training technology.
  • Ensure sales training and enablement programs incorporate best practices, adult learning principles, and commercial insights to maximize engagement and results.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales training, field leadership, or commercial enablement within MedTech, Biologics, Device, Pharmaceutical, or related industries.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce CRM, and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Showpad, Allego).
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, sensitive information, and a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a balance of independence and collaboration.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally (40–60%).
  • Competitive annual salary ($154,000 – $222,000) plus potential bonus, incentive pay, and equity.
