About the Role

Costanoa Ventures is seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Recruiter (Contract) to join our ScaleUp Program, a dedicated embedded recruiting team that supports our portfolio companies during critical early stages of growth. This is a contract role focused on helping small, nimble teams in our portfolio attract, engage, and hire exceptional technical talent. You’ll be embedded with one or more of our startups and will work directly with our founders, hiring managers, and our internal talent team on hiring for mission-critical roles.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as an embedded recruiter for early-stage startups in the Costanoa portfolio

  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to deeply understand hiring needs and define role requirements

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (e.g. software engineers, infrastructure, data, security, etc.)

  • Source and engage passive technical talent using creative, targeted methods

  • Build inclusive pipelines and maintain a high-quality candidate experience throughout the hiring process

  • Advise startups on best practices for hiring strategy, outreach, process design, and closing candidates

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of recruiting experience, with a strong focus on technical roles

  • Proven success hiring and scaling (think 0-1) for early-stage startups, for Seed/Series A companies within the B2B SaaS space

  • Strong sourcing chops — you know how to uncover and engage great engineers beyond LinkedIn

  • Comfortable operating independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • A thoughtful and candidate-first approach to recruiting

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style

  • Familiarity with startup ATS tools (we use Ashby, but the portfolio company may want you working within their tech stack)

  • Contract role (part-time or full-time, depending on need)
