Job Description

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture – Retail, the People & Culture Business Partner – Retail Central will provide thought partnership to our Vuori stores teams in the areas of talent management, organizational design and effectiveness, employee engagement, and ensuring our Vuori culture is thriving. You will contribute to building all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will partner with store leadership to execute strategies in areas like coaching/development, organizational design, succession planning, talent assessment and development, compensation, and employee relations. 

This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance and the creation, execution, and tracking of People metrics to support business decisions. 

What you'll get to do: 

  • Contribute to the creation of store-related initiatives that are aligned to our overall People & Culture strategy. 
  • Be a thought partner to store leadership and team members and demonstrate success in assessing organizational health of store work environments, employee relations, coaching, performance management, career development, retention, and rewards programs. 
  • Determine ways to continue to leverage our strengths and identify opportunities either across the fleet, within a district, or at a store level while finding the right balance between speed and process/compliance. Recommend creative solutions. 
  • Manage routine to complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and partners with ER team and leadership to recommend appropriate action to resolve the issues in a timely manner. 
  • Partner with the Recruiting Team to identify strengths and opportunities in our hiring process, assessment of talent, and ways to improve stores capabilities in identifying and hiring top talent. 
  • Identify ways to create data that will be most impactful to our stores and influence business leaders with data-driven recommendations. 
  • Develop change management plans and manage stakeholders before and after changes take place. 
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills including high-quality document preparation and presentation skills. 
  • Be able to work independently and exercise excellent judgment, as well as be an active member of both the store leadership and our People and Culture team. 
  • Contribute to creating and implementing standards for recording employee relations issues and investigations, maintaining and updating People and Culture related policies and procedures in our Employee Handbook and Stores communication channels. 
  • Partner with the Director of People & Culture, Retail on developing and implementing engagement tools to increase morale. 
  • Partner with the Benefits to team to review accommodations and worker's compensation programs and policies for stores, in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws and under the general direction and guidance of the Director of People & Culture, Retail and the legal department. 
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal department as needed/required. 
  • Collaborate with other areas of the People & Culture Team on the implementation and rollout of plans, programs and policies. 
  • Research, analyze and respond to employee/manager questions and/or issues regarding People & Culture policies and processes. 
  • Help identify training needs for the business, partner in implementation, and participate in evaluation and monitoring of success. 
  • Complete other projects as assigned by the People and Culture leadership. 

Qualifications

Who you are: 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR or Business, or equivalent years of experience preferred.  
  • 5+ years of relevant HR generalist/business partner experience in dynamic, fast-paced organizations. 
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws (i.e.: EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPPA, OSHA, etc.). 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy. 
  • Well organized, plans effectively and prioritizes time according to what is most impactful. 
  • Dependable and can be relied upon to meet deadlines and commitments. 
  • Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate. 
  • Strong interviewing/fact finding and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong conflict management skills with demonstrated understanding of interpersonal relationship building. 
  • Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. 
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred. 
  • Demonstrated competence in other human resource disciplines including compensation, change management, talent management, organizational diagnosis and planning, and diversity, equity and inclusion. 
  • Relevant Retail experience required.

*This role can be based in Chicago, Dallas, or Denver. 

The salary range for this role is $93,400 per year - $120,000 per year.
