Hospital Manager - Sandy, UT

VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) is focused exclusively on emergency veterinary care, building a customer-centric experience with advanced diagnostics and a highly trained, emergency-focused team. We are seeking a Hospital Manager to lead the Sandy, UT hospital — driving culture, staff development, community partnerships, operations, and financial performance to make the hospital the obvious place for emergency pet care.

Skills

  • Proven leadership and people management experience

  • Operations and inventory management proficiency
  • Strong emotional intelligence and coaching ability
  • Knowledge of HR, payroll, and labor compliance
  • Familiarity with DEA/controlled substances and OSHA requirements
  • Community outreach and marketing aptitude
  • Customer service and patient-family focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain high-performing support staff
  • Mentor and develop team members through regular coaching and training
  • Manage HR responsibilities in compliance with state and federal law
  • Market the hospital and build relationships with referring veterinarians and local partners
  • Gather and act on customer feedback and experience metrics
  • Oversee daily operations including facility upkeep, inventory, and controlled substances
  • Implement and enforce hospital policies (DEA/Controlled Substances, OSHA)
  • Create cost-effective non-doctor schedules aligned to customer demand
  • Manage payroll, accounts receivable, cash handling, and P&L responsibilities
  • Participate in financial planning and meetings with regional leadership

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
