Purpose

Provide Human Resources support under the direction of the Human Resources Coordinator, in the Undergraduate Education office of the College of Natural Sciences. To advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.

Responsibilities

  • HR Transactions for Student Positions: Manage student employee positions, including but not limited to hiring and terminating Undergraduate Course Assistants and Teaching Assistants. Complete onboarding procedures for new hires, including I-9's and background checks. Communicate with program administrators and students regarding tasks that need to be completed for employment. Monitor eligibility statuses working with other departments, students, and supervisors to manage ineligibility. Provide regular communication to area supervisors regarding UT policies and procedures. Maintain confidential files. Function as timekeeper.

  • HR Transactions for Faculty and Affiliated positions: Complete PARs and other HR onboarding procedures. Complete annual appointments for NTT faculty. Add jobs for extra faculty assignments. Process one-time payments as needed.

  • Support the Senior HR Coordinator for UE with other transactions related to staff HR processes and special projects as needed.

  • Other Duties as Assigned: Provide general support to Undergraduate Education and its associated programs including but not limited supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources administration or related field

  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines and handling large volumes of work efficiently

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and faculty

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team setting

  • Reliable history of regular and punctual attendance

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Office 365 applications

  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws

  • Understanding of business applications used at UT-Austin

Salary Range

$48,500 + depending upon qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Occasional evenings and weekends required.

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

Employment Eligibility:

Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.

Compliance:

Employees may be required to report violations of law under Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).
