Ternary is seeking a Staff Product Manager to advance the strategy of our leading FinOps platform. Both enterprises and managed service providers (MSPs) are actively looking for a FinOps platform that provides visibility, optimization, and automation to manage their cloud spending and maximize business value. Ternary is a leading FinOps platform provider, managing our customers' billions of dollars of cloud spend.
You will drive product strategy, execution, and customer impact at scale. This role requires intellectual curiosity, technical rigor, and a customer-centric approach, while demonstrating the leadership and influence to align stakeholders across our team. You will take full ownership of a product area, setting the vision, guiding execution, and representing the product both internally and externally.
About us:
We are passionate about building a platform that excels in FinOps, one that we wish we had in our past roles as engineers, financial analysts, and leaders. Our founding team boasts deep experience, with many members having been early employees at leading cost management/FinOps products. We've leveraged this expertise to develop an advanced platform that serves enterprise and MSP customers operating at scale. We are well-funded and have plenty of runway to succeed. At Ternary, we value being biased toward action, acting with urgency, quick execution, and passion for supporting our customers.
Key responsibilities:
Define and own the product vision and strategy for your domain, ensuring alignment with company goals and long-term growth.
Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation, requirements, and prioritization to execution, launch, and adoption.
Partner with engineering to drive technical excellence, ensuring projects are executed with rigor, scalability, and innovation.
Use a data-driven and systematic approach to evaluate opportunities, measure impact, and guide decision-making.
Deeply understand customer needs through research, feedback, and data, translating insights into practical strategies and product designs.
Serve as a product evangelist, collaborating with Product Marketing and representing the company in talks, events, and industry forums.
Leverage AI both in your PM workflow and in designing cutting-edge, AI-powered product features.
Qualifications:
7–10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
Proven track record of owning and scaling significant product areas in SaaS, cloud, or technology-driven environments.
Demonstrated success driving strategy and execution across complex, cross-functional teams.
Strong data fluency with experience in experimentation, metrics design, and data-driven decision-making.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Experience integrating AI into products or leveraging AI in workflows strongly preferred.
Comp and benefits:
Company-sponsored travel to interact with colleagues several times a year.
We provide generous health benefits, 401(k) plan, and a WFH budget for you to set up your home office (not available for contract or short term roles such as internships).
Equity compensation so that all employees can participate in Ternary's success (not available for contract or short term roles such as internships).
The team culture is the best of what you would expect to see at a startup combined with a level of maturity you would see at a much larger company.
At Ternary, we value diversity. We are an equal opportunity employer: we do not discriminate on the basis of racial orientation, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Ternary is a remote-first company.
If an employer mentions a salary or salary range on their job, we display it as an "Employer Estimate". If a job has no salary data, Rise displays an estimate if available.
