Skills
- Experience with RTL-to-GDSII physical design and signoff flows
- Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and their algorithms
- Understanding of deep sub-micron FinFET/CMOS physics and digital CMOS design
- Scripting skills (bash/csh, Perl, Python, TCL, Makefile) for automation
- Knowledge of power, leakage/dynamic dissipation and power integrity considerations
Responsibilities
- Execute partition synthesis and full physical implementation: synthesis, floorplanning, power/ground grid generation, place & route, timing closure and signoff checks
- Develop and improve physical design methodologies, flows and automation scripts
- Collaborate with ASIC architects and RTL designers to set timing, power, and area targets and evaluate RTL/design tradeoffs
- Diagnose and resolve design, timing, congestion and signoff issues (STA, noise, LVS/DRC, EM, IR drop, LEC)
- Run, debug and fix signoff closure problems across timing, physical verification and equivalency checks
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (required)
- Advanced degree in related field preferred but not required
