Director of Sales, United States Navy (USN)

Silvus Technologies, now part of Motorola Solutions, delivers advanced MIMO-MANET radios and waveforms for mission-critical communications across defense and public safety customers. The company is seeking a Director of Sales focused on growing Silvus’ presence within the U.S. Navy account domain by driving capture activities, building relationships, and closing opportunities across NAVSEA/NAVAIR/NIWC programs.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of U.S. Navy procurement processes (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NIWC/PEO).
  • Familiarity with U.S. DoD funding and acquisition cycles and budget processes.
  • Proven capture and proposal experience including RFIs/RFPs, teaming, and strategic positioning.
  • Experience selling technical communications or autonomous systems to DoD customers.
  • Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain SECRET clearance within 12 months.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for role).
  • Strong CRM usage for pipeline and forecast management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the full sales cycle targeting U.S. Navy accounts, from lead generation through contract award and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Navy stakeholders, program offices, integrators, and partners (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NIWC, NSW).
  • Identify new programs, market segments, and opportunities aligned with Silvus MIMO solutions and establish account plans.
  • Support trade shows, demonstrations, customer events, and technical briefings to advance sales and product adoption.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform positioning and capture strategies.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline in CRM with accurate forecasting and opportunity updates.
  • Maintain deep product knowledge to clearly articulate value propositions and technical advantages.
  • Respond to and manage customer concerns; ensure customer-centric follow-through and post-sale support.
  • Travel as required (up to 50%) for customer engagement, demos, and events.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience acceptable.
