Take the next step in your career by joining us as a CHRO Class Study Consultant where you'll play a pivotal role in evaluating and analyzing classification efforts across Oregon state government in partnership with the Senior Classification Study Consultant. In this role, you will lead the research and cultivation of information regarding the legislative report for SB494. Survey surrounding states to gain information on Wildland Fire position classifications, conduct market analysis to establish salary bands for proposed classifications and finalize a project report to submit for legislative oversight and review on behalf of DAS CHRO. Your expertise will help establish, maintain, and administer the state's classification and compensation system by conducting research and consulting on job classification, compensation, and pay administration with Oregon state agencies. You will serve as an advisor to agency management, providing support on integrating program, policy, and system development needs and state workforce management issues. What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or Public Administration, Behavioral Sciences or Organizational Development/Behavior; AND four years professional level human resource experience in classification and compensation;

OR

  • Seven years professional level human resource experience in classification and compensation.

Equivalency Notes:

The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification, awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office, substitutes for six months of human resource professional-level experience.

Valid Certification as a SHRM Certified Professional awarded by a nationally recognized organization, substitutes for one year of human resource professional-level experience.

Desired Attributes:

  • Experience leading and supporting various forms of classification studies  involving organizational analysis, change impact analysis, feedback analysis, and change readiness assessments activities.

  • Experience working collaboratively with internal and external partners, recognizing issues, and cultivating consensus-based solutions.

  • Experience or demonstrated abilities in data collection, hygiene, and analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to compile program research and market compensation information into formal reports and policy recommendations.

  • Ability to condense complex information into easily accessible narrative.

  • Strong organization and project management skills; including the ability to manage multiple priorities, work with multiple deadlines, navigate continual change, and pivot between competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply experience, knowledge, and judgment to interpret business needs, make recommendations, and plan effectively to accomplish goals utilizing an equity framework across the organization.

  • Demonstrated experience with large scale or government organization established job evaluation methodologies utilizing Hay methodology, and compensation pillars (salary planning, market pay data, benchmarking, survey management) is preferred but not required.
