What You’ll Do
As our Statewide Sustainability Officer, you will:
Lead statewide implementation of Executive Orders and legislation related to energy, climate adaptation, and building performance.
Serve as DAS’s enterprise subject matter expert on sustainability, energy, and resource conservation.
Develop policies and programs that help agencies save energy, conserve resources, and meet carbon reduction goals.
Advise leaders, provide technical guidance, and present to partners across agencies, communities, and the public.
Represent DAS on the Governor’s Climate Resource Cabinet and serve as central support to the Oregon Sustainability Board.
Build partnerships with agencies, local governments, tribal governments, and federal partners to advance sustainability.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven years of executive-level policy development or foundational experience directly related to the position being recruited; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Related experience must include sustainability, energy management and/or resource conservation.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Typically, this position reports to our Salem Oregon office once per week. Exact terms of hybrid work and the work schedule will be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate and hiring manager. *The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
