This senior-level role is focused on driving growth in the public sector by building strategic partnerships and expanding client adoption of innovative fintech and AI-powered solutions. As the Director of Business Development, you will lead engagements with state and local government stakeholders, translating their priorities into tailored solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and fraud detection. You will be responsible for navigating complex procurement processes, building trusted relationships, and representing the organization at high-profile industry events. This is a unique opportunity to influence mission-critical initiatives, shape go-to-market strategies, and contribute to the modernization of public sector services.

Accountabilities

  • Lead business development efforts with state and local government agencies, particularly Medicaid programs, to promote adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Develop and execute strategic account and go-to-market plans tailored to public-sector clients.
  • Conduct consultative solution selling by understanding client needs, presenting tailored solutions, and demonstrating measurable value.
  • Manage procurement cycles, including RFP responses, contracts, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in product, sales, and solution engineering to ensure alignment with state regulations and integration needs.
  • Monitor policy changes and market trends to refine strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Represent the company at Medicaid conferences, government expos, and industry networking events.
  • Partner with consultants, advisors, and internal teams to maximize business impact while acting as a brand ambassador.
  • 8+ years of proven experience selling to federal and state governments, with a strong track record of revenue growth in the public sector.
  • Expertise in Medicaid processes, with experience engaging state agencies highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in uncovering new business opportunities and developing strong client relationships.
  • Recognized as a thought leader or trusted advisor within the public-sector domain.
  • Proficiency in navigating procurement processes and managing complex projects.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work seamlessly with executives, teammates, and external partners.
