Overview

East Penn is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist is a key member of the Accounts Payable team that will support the AP Manager and department.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies and posts high volumes of accounts payable transactions into the Accounts Payable and General Ledger system
  • Process and prepare daily check runs
  • Research and reconcile outstanding checks
  • Research discrepancies as well as any unpaid/unapproved invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Run weekly reports for electronic payments (Wire, ACH)
  • Assists with posting of payment details (manual checks) for all electronic and foreign exchange payments
  • Assisting with the implementation of upgraded software for Accounts Payable and the General Ledger
  • Preparation of unclaimed property data that will be reported to governmental entities
  • Assist with year end audit and the overall Accounts Payable Accrual
  • Assist AP Manager with month end close
  • File, organize, and Maintain Accounts Payable files either electronically or hard copy
  • Communicate remittance details to vendors for all electronic payments
  • Maintaining and preparation of 1099’s
  • Other duties and assignments as requested 

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

 

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable

 

Education/Certification

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in accounting or business preferred

 

Skills & Competencies

 

Required:

 

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Accounts Payable function
  • Working knowledge of automated AP software
    • Microsoft Dynamics SL helpful, but not necessary
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
  • Ability to analyze problems and formulate alternatives, strong critical thinking skills are essential
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Dependable and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player with proven ability to work across functional areas
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate (when appropriate) to manage time efficiently and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite
