Dow Consumer Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, strategic and customer focused individual to fill an open position of Senior Market Development Manager to support the development of our newly created Medical business in Midland, MI!

You will report to the Dow Consumer Solutions Medical Platform Sr Director and join a cross functional team that is engaged in growing Silicones into the medical market.

This position will be responsible for designing long-term segment strategies globally and their respective implementation plans to deliver value growth. We are seeking a leader who has a proven track record in developing and implementing a significant growth portfolio focused on new and innovative opportunities. As part of strategy definition and deployment, we are expecting the ideal candidate to build and nurture customer relationships in the relevant segments to achieve sales.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Develop and implement 5 years global/ regional market entry strategy and implementation plans (0-2years focus) including market analysis, competitive analysis, customer dynamics, key capabilities to win, 4P's, profitability and plan for continuous growth.
  • Lead segment Market Management Team (MMT) to align cross-functional teams towards key business deliverables
  • Expand the customer base through identification of market players, establishing & nurturing relationships to generate new demand for our products. Accountable for the delivery of opportunity pipeline.
  • Map out unmet customer needs and work cross functionally with the MMT, product development and technical service & development to initiate, develop, and drive the segment innovation pipeline
  • Drive prioritization and implementation of marketing communications plan with Business Communications.
  • Refine our channel partners base and provide necessary support to deliver growth targets
  • Participate on Global Market Segment Team

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
  • 10+ years relevant experience commercial (sales/marketing/ new business development) experience preferably in specialty chemicals
  • Medical/Healthcare industry experience required, ideally with chemical/Silicones applications.
  • Proven track record of developing market strategies and delivering growth in white spaces
  • A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chemical/Silicones experience market development experience

  • Marketing Plan Development: Market plan development is the process of defining the marketing goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics for a target market segment aligned to the organization's market and business strategies. This includes the 4P marketing mix (product, pricing, place / channels, promotion), sustainability strategy, projected lead / opportunity pipeline, and sales plan required to deliver regional or global business outcomes.
  • Business Development: Business development entails tasks and processes to develop and implement growth opportunities within and between organizations. It is a subset of the fields of business, commerce and organizational theory. Business development is the creation of long-term value for an organization from customers, markets, and relationships.
  • Value Propositions: Value Propositions is a promise by a company to a customer or market segment, providing a clear reason why a product or service is best suited for that particular customer, often communicated as a concise statement of the tangible and intangible benefits.
  • Financial Acumen: Financial Acumen is a critical skill that refers to the ability to comprehend and apply financial knowledge and insights to make informed decisions. It’s the understanding of the financial effects and relationships of various aspects of your business
  • Business Acumen: Business acumen is keenness and quickness in understanding and dealing with a "business situation" in a manner that is likely to lead to a good outcome. Additionally, business acumen has emerged as a vehicle for improving financial performance and leadership development. Consequently, several different types of strategies have developed around improving business acumen.
  • Managing Ambiguity: Dealing with ambiguity refers to the ability to effectively cope with change and to comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
  • Agile Marketing: An approach to marketing that uses the principles and practices of agile methodologies to complete work in rapid iterations with continuous feedback and optimization. Agile Marketing Teams focus on customer value and business outcomes, delivering value early and often, learning through data-driven experiments, cross-functional collaboration, and responding to change.
