Talent Operations Assistant

Position Overview:
Dechert LLP is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Talent Operations Assistant – US to join the Talent Operations team, reporting to the Director of Talent Operations. This role will provide critical support across Advisory, Recruiting, Total Rewards and Development functions, with a focus on data management, early careers support, and logistical coordination. The ideal candidate will have an interest or background in Human Resources or legal recruiting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Maintain and update data in VI and Workday systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Junior Transactional Pool Support: Assist the Early Careers Administrator with staffing assignments, tracking training compliance and attendance, coordinating mid-year and end-of-year evaluations, managing the practice group matching process at the end of the 2-year pool, and addressing employee relations matters.
  • Early Careers Transition: Support the transition of US summer associates to fall associates, including bar prep communication and short-term loan coordination.
  • Pre-Employment Processes: Process pre-employment background and conflicts checks for new hires.
  • Exit Interview Tracking: Track and analyze exit interview results to identify trends and insights.
  • Scheduling & Logistics: Coordinate scheduling and logistics for interviewing and Development programming.
  • Inbox Support: Provide general email inbox support across Advisory, Recruiting, Total Rewards and Development teams, responding to inquiries or escalating as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with other Talent Operations tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in Human Resources, legal recruiting, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Interest or experience in recruiting, human resources or professional development.
  • Familiarity with Workday, VI or similar HRIS systems.
